The author lives near a special spot where fantasies come alive and he merged with natural phenomena.  Gradually he came to realize that he lived in just such a magical place.  Regular walks on Broad Street in Sal Luis Obispo, California slowly awakened him to the miracles he was missing.  A deck overlooking Stenner Creek was only a place to relax. 

One afternoon, as he sat in a deck chair, a cloud of Monarch Butterflies settled on some trees only yards in front of him.  He opened his eyes to the enchanting sight and began to look about him.  From somewhere, a chorus of bird songs surrounded him.  As often as he had sat out there, he never heard those calls before.  He listened.

Walking the five blocks of Broad, he noticed for the first time the beautiful lawn plantings.  He looked closer.  A whole world of changes was happening before his face.

His observations and his brain meshed and thoughts that he never had before filled his head and he placed many into this booklet.

The suggestion to all who read this is observe what is happening around you.  See the trees swell with new growth.  Watch the flowers greet the sun.  Hear the birds call to each other.  Become a bard on your own street.
